About
Àlex Nadal is a Director of Photography driven by a strong passion for transforming ideas into powerful visual narratives. His body of work spans a wide range of formats, from music videos to feature films. Most recently, he served as the cinematographer on a feature film shot in Mexico, currently in post-production.
In addition to his work in cinematography, Àlex has an extensive background in academic leadership and media education. For several years, he held the roles of Head of Studies and Head of the Film Department at a specialized audiovisual school, where he led academic teams and implemented innovative strategies to support both student and faculty development. He taught daily and worked closely with students, helping them refine their skills in cinematography and visual storytelling. This chapter of his career allowed him to combine his passion for education with the demands of the creative industry.
He has since stepped away from academic leadership roles to fully focus on his career in film and commercial production. This transition has enabled him to dedicate more time to his creative practice, while continuing to share his expertise through workshops, guest lectures, and collaborations within the industry.
Àlex remains deeply committed to fostering creativity and technical excellence, both in his own projects and within the broader media community. His journey as a cinematographer is fueled by a continuous pursuit of innovation and lifelong learning.
Beyond filmmaking, Àlex is also the co-owner of Adual Group, a business collective that includes ventures such as Baked by Alba, an American-style pastry bakery he runs alongside Alba Gil, with locations in Badalona and Alcalá de Henares.
The Higher Education Academy (HEA) advocates evidence-based teaching methods and awards fellowships as a method of professional recognition for university leaders. The HEA is a British professional membership scheme promoting excellence in higher education.
Fellowship is awarded on the basis of evidence of personal professional practice which meets the requirements of one of the four Descriptors of the Professional Standards Framework 2023 (PSF 2023). The PSF 2023 has been developed as a standards framework for the higher education sector that sets out the knowledge, skills and behaviours demonstrated by those teaching and/or supporting higher education learning.
